Imperyalista, I-bagsak!
Kapitalismo, I-bagsak!

Ako: Boss! Boss! Bakit ho kayo nagrarally?

Romance In Vegas

Monday, June 7, 2010 · 1 comments

I was watching a local Talk Show on Sunday night when a very romantic-looking place was featured. Apparently, one of the hosts just came from a vacation and he was retelling the beautiful cities and places that he'd been through.

At first, I thought the place being featured was Venice, Italy because the movie clip is showing the beautiful archeologic buildings usually seen in Italy. It also shows that the building is actually surrounded by clear water, and that there are boats that roam around the area. Tourists can get to ride on the boats so they can have a fantastic romantic view of the place.

Indeed, the clip shows how wonderfully romantic the area is; and so I was quite surprised when the host revealed that he is not in Italy, but rather, he is on the Vegas Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oh, how my eyes were fooled. But then, a lot of credits must be given to whoever conceptualized the idea of bringing in the romantic scenery of Venice right in the middle of the busy city of Las Vegas.

Further, the host also gave a thorough tour of the wonderful places, the fantastic accommodations, the beautiful rooms, and even the lots of things that you can do when you are in the area. A lot of people will definitely associate Las Vegas with Casino and how one's eyes will feast on the many games available and how one feels about the Vegas nightlife experience, but then, it will be quite foolish not to try riding on the boat, especially with your love partner. It will be a very romantic night should you decide to roam around the area and wonder at the beautiful settings just like you are in the lovely country of Italy.

Of course, a sumptuous candle-lit dinner will cap the day.

Dear Kris Aquino

Dear Kris,

I hate to say this. But your brother will perform better if you don't involve yourself in matters of government.

We appreciate you for entertaining us on Philippine television but really, really, a lot of the Filipino people are not in favor of you interfering with how and what the government should do.

During the campaign period, you promised to leave the country in case you become a stumbling block during your brother's presidency. Well, we do remember your promise, Kris, and we await that you fulfill your promise in case it is needed.

Over the past weeks, news came out that your brother is considering your co-host and friend Boy Abunda for a top position in the government. Abunda, however, declined the offer, but a lot of people are wondering why Abunda's name was suddenly picked for the position.

Well, we were not surprised when the news came out on June 6, Sunday, that indeed, you were the one who suggested Abunda for the Department of Tourism position.

Let me end this letter with a question, Kris.

Will you keep your promise?
